Dignity Promotion
March 25, 2008
Spencer Ackerman, a senior correspondent for The American Prospect and a senior reporter for the new and great The Washington Independent wrote an article the other day about Obama’s foreign policy team that is pretty mandatory reading if you want to get a good idea of what his team stands for. I don’t want to summarize the article, as it should really be read in full, but one of the team’s ideas Ackerman gets pretty heavily into is that of “dignity promotion”. This idea, that the world community doesn’t just need democracy promotion but dignity promotion as well, really gets to the crux of Obama’s foreign policy, and it is certainly something I can agree with. I guess what I am saying is, read the article. If you have a chance (it is a tad long).
